WX TREK Sunglasses by Wiley X®
The WX TREK by Wiley X® is designed for users looking for a combination of eye protection, comfort, and a casual sporty look. The modern rectangular shape is suitable for everyday wear as well as active use while travelling, working, or spending time outdoors.
The durable yet lightweight Triloid™ frame is designed to withstand increased mechanical stress without unnecessarily compromising comfort. Rubberised nose pads help keep the sunglasses securely in place and reduce unwanted movement during activity.
A practical feature is the removable side shields, which can be quickly attached or removed as needed. When fitted, they provide additional protection to the peripheral area of the eyes, while removing them gives the sunglasses a more casual appearance suitable for everyday wear.
The WX TREK can also be fitted with prescription lenses. The frame construction accommodates a wider range of prescriptions than many highly curved sports frames without compromising its lightweight design and comfort during extended wear.
The model meets the requirements of the ANSI Z87.1+ and EN 166F standards. EN 166F covers protection against low-energy impact, while ANSI Z87.1+ specifies requirements for eye and face protection, including impact resistance.
CAPTIVATE™ Polarized Grey / Matte Black Variant
This variant combines a matte black frame with CAPTIVATE™ Polarized Grey lenses. The polarising filter reduces distracting glare from water, roads, and other reflective surfaces, while CAPTIVATE™ technology enhances the perception of colours, contrast, and details. The manufacturer recommends this variant for fishing, outdoor activities, work and safety applications, skiing, boating, and driving. Light transmission is 15%.
CAPTIVATE™ Polarized Green Mirror / Gloss Crystal Light Grey Variant
This variant combines a gloss crystal light grey frame with CAPTIVATE™ Polarized Green Mirror lenses. Polarisation helps reduce glare from reflective surfaces and enhances visual comfort in bright light conditions. According to the manufacturer, this variant is particularly suitable for fishing, outdoor activities, work and safety applications, and skiing. Light transmission is 12%.
Grey / Matte Black Variant
This variant combines a matte black frame with classic grey lenses. The grey tint is particularly suitable for bright light conditions and provides natural colour perception without significantly altering colour tones. The manufacturer recommends this variant for fishing, outdoor activities, work and safety applications, and skiing.
CAPTIVATE™ Polarized Copper / Matte Havana Brown Variant
This variant combines a matte Havana brown frame with CAPTIVATE™ Polarized Copper lenses. The copper lens base enhances contrast and colour perception, particularly emphasising red, yellow, and green tones. CAPTIVATE™ technology also filters selected parts of blue HEV light, while the polarising filter reduces distracting glare from water, roads, and other reflective surfaces. Thanks to their optical properties, these lenses are suitable for intense sunlight as well as changing light conditions, particularly for outdoor activities, fishing, and driving.
