The high-cut Predator Mountaineering boots by Pentagon are designed for long-distance movement across mountainous, uneven, and demanding terrain, where stability, foot protection, and resistance to adverse weather conditions are essential. The boots are engineered to provide the necessary support and mechanical durability without unnecessary weight or stiffness.

The upper combines 1.6–1.8 mm hydrophobic full-grain nubuck leather with abrasion-resistant nylon fabric. This combination provides the necessary flexibility while offering high resistance to wear when moving across rocky and rugged terrain. High-wear areas are further protected by rubber reinforcement and a moulded structure, increasing protection against impacts and mechanical damage.

Protection against water is provided by a waterproof Hydroguard® membrane combined with a breathable Air Mesh lining. The membrane prevents water from entering the boot, while the lining promotes airflow during extended movement. The manufacturer specifies more than 12 hours of static waterproofing in heavy rain and waterproof testing over 20,000–28,000 water penetration cycles.

Protection against moisture and mechanical wear is further enhanced by a waterproof and abrasion-resistant tongue construction. Metal eyelets combined with durable nylon laces allow the boots to be securely tightened and adjusted to the foot.

During long ascents, descents, and extended movement, a removable cushioned footbed helps reduce strain on the feet. The footbed is 5 mm thick at the forefoot and 7 mm at the heel for more effective shock absorption on impact. The construction is therefore designed to provide comfort even during prolonged movement under load.

Contact with the ground is provided by a slip-resistant and wear-resistant rubber outsole, which delivers the necessary traction on rock, dirt, and mixed terrain. It is also designed to provide secure footing on ladder rungs as well as wet or smooth surfaces.

The boots feature a glue-cemented construction that helps maintain flexibility while keeping unnecessary weight to a minimum. A single boot in size EU 43 weighs approximately 760 g, combining a robust construction with a reasonable overall weight.

The model meets the requirements of the EN ISO 20345:2022 LG SRC standard. The LG designation refers to testing for grip on ladder rungs, while SRC indicates a high level of slip resistance. Thanks to the combination of a durable upper, waterproof protection, cushioning, and a stable outsole, the boots are suitable for mountain and rough-terrain activities, long-distance movement under load, and use in cold, wet, and uneven environments.
