TETRAO Mineral Salt Block

The TETRAO Mineral Salt Block is a pressed mineral lick designed to supplement minerals and trace elements in the diet of livestock and wild game. It is suitable for horses, cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and game, with the animals naturally consuming the minerals by licking the block.

TETRAO blocks are manufactured from rock salt using a special high-pressure pressing method. This creates a solid structure with high resistance to weather conditions, promoting even consumption and a long service life.

A mineral lick provides a simple way to supplement an animal's diet with elements important for its body. These primarily include sodium and, depending on the selected version, magnesium, zinc, manganese, iron, iodine, copper, and selenium. Mineral requirements may be higher during growth, in breeding females, sport horses, or animals kept or living in environments with naturally low mineral levels.

Minerals and trace elements are also an important part of the diet of wild ungulates. Regular supplementation is particularly beneficial during periods when their natural diet does not provide sufficient amounts. A mineral lick allows animals to continuously consume salt and the other minerals it contains according to their needs.

Minerals are involved in many natural processes in the body and are important for functions such as digestion, blood formation, metabolism, and the development of bones and antlers. According to available data, red deer may consume approximately 3 kg of salt per animal per year, while roe deer may consume approximately 1.5 kg.

TETRAO Premium Mineral Salt Block

The Premium version is enriched with magnesium and a premix of important trace elements. It contains zinc, manganese, iron, iodine, copper, and selenium and, according to the manufacturer, can provide up to one third of the required minerals and essential trace elements in an animal's diet.

Composition: Feed material – sodium chloride, feed material – magnesium oxide, nutritional feed additives from the functional group of trace elements.

Additives: 3b103 Fe – iron in the form of iron(II) sulphate monohydrate in the premix 3,000 mg/kg, 3b603 Zn – zinc in the form of zinc oxide in the premix 4,000 mg/kg, 3b502 Mn – manganese in the form of manganese(II) oxide in the premix 1,500 mg/kg, 3b405 Cu – copper in the form of copper(II) sulphate pentahydrate in the premix 560 mg/kg, 3b202 I – iodine in the form of calcium iodate in the premix 80 mg/kg, 3b801 Se – selenium in the form of sodium selenite in the premix 4.5 mg/kg.

Analytical constituents: Sodium 35%, magnesium 3%, calcium 0.15%, phosphorus 0.00%.

TETRAO Forest Mineral Salt Block

The Forest version is enriched primarily with zinc and other trace elements. It is particularly suitable for animals with increased mineral requirements, such as growing young animals, breeding females, sport horses, or animals grazing in areas with naturally low mineral levels, such as mountain pastures.

Compared with the Premium version, Forest contains higher levels of zinc, manganese, copper, and selenium in the premix. Its analytical constituents include 37% sodium, 0.05% magnesium, 0.2% calcium, and 0.00% phosphorus.

Composition: Feed material – sodium chloride, nutritional feed additives from the functional group of trace elements.

Additives: 3b603 Zn – zinc in the form of zinc oxide in the premix 6,000 mg/kg, 3b502 Mn – manganese in the form of manganese(II) oxide in the premix 4,000 mg/kg, 3b405 Cu – copper in the form of copper(II) sulphate pentahydrate in the premix 1,000 mg/kg, 3b103 Fe – iron in the form of iron(II) sulphate monohydrate in the premix 1,000 mg/kg, 3b202 I – iodine in the form of calcium iodate in the premix 80 mg/kg, 3b801 Se – selenium in the form of sodium selenite in the premix 20 mg/kg.

For both versions, the recommended daily intake through licking is 30–50 g, depending on the size of the animal. The block weighs 10 kg with a permitted weight tolerance of -5%, and its minimum shelf life is 24 months from the date of manufacture.
