MRE, ARPOL WZ

A military food ration, MRE , a combat food ration (BDP). There are various names for a similar product – a pack of long-life foods that are easy to prepare.

This pack is produced by the Polish company ARPOL and, among others, is supplied to the Polish army. Compared to the Czech BDP, the ARPOL WZ MRE food pack clearly has a better taste of the main dishes, which are not as heavily salted.

Just like US MREs, this field ration includes a flameless heater. When compared with the American Meal Ready to Eat, the main advantage of the ARPOL WZ food pack is the strict health and safety control of the product. The packs are fresh, with a sufficiently long shelf life, while US MREs usually come with an unknown expiration date.

SET 1 – Lasagne (300 g)

Sterilized canned dish with meat and vegetables

Ingredients: lasagne pasta (durum wheat semolina), pork shoulder meat, water, cheese (milk, colouring: E 160b, calcium chloride E 509, rennet, salt, bacterial starter culture), ingredients (spices, salt, celery, flavour enhancers: E 621 and E 635, glucose), tomato paste, modified corn starch, dried onion, rapeseed oil.

The product may contain soy, mustard and eggs.

SET 2 – Bograč (300 g)

Sterilized canned dish with meat and vegetables

Ingredients: water, beef shoulder meat, potatoes, pasta (durum wheat semolina), tomato paste, wheat flour, ingredients (spices, salt, yeast extract, dried vegetables, celery, flavouring, partially hydrogenated palm fat, modified corn starch, soy protein hydrolysate, flavour enhancers: E 621 and E 635, colourings: riboflavin and ammonium caramel, vinegar, sugar, glucose), modified corn starch, margarine (vegetable oils: palm and rapeseed, water, salt, preservative: potassium sorbate, colouring: annatto, flavouring), dried red paprika.

The product may contain mustard, milk including lactose and eggs.

Drinking chocolate

Ingredients: sugar, dried whole milk, cocoa powder with reduced fat, emulsifier: soy lecithin, thickener: sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, table salt, flavouring (contains lactose).

Peanuts in dark chocolate

Ingredients: peanuts, dark chocolate (sugar, cocoa mass, cocoa butter, emulsifier: E 322 (soy), natural vanilla flavour), glazing agent(s): E 414.

May contain traces of gluten, milk and other nuts.

Sesame slice (30 g)

Ingredients: sesame seeds, glucose syrup, sugar.

The product may contain peanuts and other nuts.

Isotonic drink (5 g)

Ingredients: sugar, maltodextrin, citric acid, potassium citrate, mineral-vitamin premix (calcium carbonate, magnesium oxide, zinc gluconate, iron pyrophosphate, vitamin B12, vitamin B6 – pyridoxine hydrochloride, vitamin B1 – thiamine mononitrate), flavouring, colouring: matcha powder, trisodium citrate, ascorbic acid, salt, sweetener: sucralose.

May contain traces of gluten, soy and milk.

SET 3 – Chicken with rice and vegetables (300 g)

Sterilized canned dish with meat and vegetables

Ingredients: water, rice 25%, chicken thigh meat 18.8%, carrot 7.5%, green peas 5%, sugar, spices, salt, yeast extract, dried vegetables, celery, flavouring, partially hydrogenated palm fat, modified corn starch, soy protein hydrolysate, flavour enhancers: E 621 and E 635, colourings: ammonium caramel and riboflavins, wheat flour, vinegar, glucose, wheat flour, butter.

The product may contain mustard and eggs.

SET 4 – Tomato risotto (300 g)

Ingredients:

• Rice 50%, canned tomatoes 34.2%, pepper, onion, wheat flour, olive oil, seasoning mix [spices, salt, partially hydrogenated palm vegetable fat, flavour enhancers: E 621 and E 635, modified corn starch, sugar, yeast extracts, dried vegetables, celery, flavourings (containing milk lactose), acidity regulator: citric acid, colouring: E 150d], cheese (milk, salt, rennet, preservative: natural egg white).

The product may contain soy and mustard seeds.

Drinking chocolate

Ingredients: sugar, dried whole milk, cocoa powder with reduced fat, emulsifier: soy lecithin, thickener: sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, table salt, flavouring (contains lactose).
