Boresnake cleaning cord for shotguns, 12 GA calibre
One of the greatest inventions in firearms cleaning and maintenance is undoubtedly Hoppe's Boresnake. The "barrel snake" is a nylon braided cord, fitted with a weighted bootstrap at one end. This weight, by its own weight, passes through the bore of the barrel from the chamber to the muzzle, and then by pulling the cord the entire Boresnake is pulled through the bore.
A bronze bore brush is first braided in the nylon knit, and then the nylon cord expands and becomes tighter in the bore, so that it easily and surely removes all debris from the bore.
The Boresnake is an essential tool for hunters or sportsmen, as well as standard equipment for most armed forces today (its variant is, for example part of the cleaning kit for the Czech BREN assault rifle).
