In the past, shooters used skateboard tape to roughen the surface of the gun to improve grip, but it is designed to stick to the wood, so it didn't stick to polymer and metal stocks and left glue on the gun after it peeled off.

Another option was stippling, which was the roughening of the stock surface with solder, but this was an irreversible modification, reduced the value of the gun, and in the case of poor or substandard workmanship, the entire body had to be replaced.

However, Talon Grips have none of these disadvantages. Once glued and heated, they adhere perfectly to the weapon, while not changing the shape of the handguard due to their minimal thickness.
