Metal eel on the cap, has a longer tradition, is specific to all mountain units and civil servants in the Alpine region of Europe. The "elite Nazis" wore an applique with an eel on their sleeves. Just read a little about history and military symbolism. The design (MIL-TEC) corresponds to the current marking in the German army. Comparing this badge with Nazi symbolism is debatable.
