Without drinkable water, a person can only function for a few days, depending on the circumstances. In extreme temperatures, however, dehydration occurs even within a few hours. If you are dehydrated and have no other option, it can be very tempting to drink from a stream in the woods, etc. However, you never know what germs are in the water, so it is advisable to supplement your kit with some form of water purification.
DISINFECTANT TABLETS
Water disinfectants usually use silver ions or chlorine and are safe for users' health. In addition, they leave no odor or aftertaste. The main advantage of disinfection tablets lies in the fact, that they "preserve" the water, and once treated, the water remains drinkable for several months. The disadvantage is the longer preparation time it takes to make water drinkable (the water treatment tablet must be left on for several tens of minutes).
