FINNISH BACKPACK SAVOTTA SADDLE SACK 339

The Saddle Sack 339 is so much more than just a backpack. Its size and car rying features might make it seem small but its spaciousness, ease of packing and the comfort of carrying its modern external frame make the 339 a great choice even for longer trips.

It's a classic Saddle Sack 339 from the 1950s, only the material has been continually upgraded - but the design remains the same.

THE PACK'S STORAGE COMPARTMENTS

The main compartment of the pack (with approximate dimensions 50 x 40 x 20-30 cm) is closed with a strong drawstring and a lid that is secured with straps. These are long enough to hold, for example, a mattress or a blanket. The straps can be extended with additional removable straps as required.

The contents of the backpack can be accessed via a small zipper on the upper right side of the backpack. A special feature is the lacing on the sides of the backpack, which allows the size of the backpack to be infinitely variable within a range of 10 cm.

You can load extra gear behind the side lacing such as a hunting axe​, for example. The side pockets (with approximate dimensions 33 x 10 x 6 cm) are closed by flaps with sufficient overlap and secured by straps. They are ideal for storing long or other bulky items (thermos). The front pocket (with approximate dimensions 20 x 30 x 6 cm) is closed with a flap and secured with two leather straps.

The dimensions are truly generous - plenty of small items can fit and they can be accessed quickly and easily.

CARRYING SYSTEM

The supportive frame of the backpack is constructed of the 339 steel tube. The lower part of the frame is bent and shaped so that the backpack can be placed safely and stably even on uneven or sharp stone surface.

The back supporting system of the backpack ensures a very comfortable carrying. The back of the backpack can be infinitely adjusted to suit all users. Your upper back and hips are supported by the stretchy mesh fabric which in practice prevents excessive sweating.

The shoulder straps are padded and in general wider than usual. Together with the chest strap they ensure a comfortable fit and they can also be adjusted on the move thanks to the adjustable straps at the top and bottom.
